The Cribs
There is something about Brit-pop that gets the Fuji audience going. I mean like, 1,000 people clapping and jumping along to every guitar strum and vocal shout. The guy next to me was going absolutely nuts the minute this UK trio started their set, and did not stop once for the next 45 minutes.
The Cribs ripped through their set lits, starting with "Our Bovine Public" and going into "Hey Scenesters" and other well known numbers like "Moving Pictures". The set was longish in terms of songs because most of their songs are no long than 2 to 3 minutes. Sung at a high pitch and fast tempo makes the minutes just melt away. Surprising was the fact the audience grew while their set went on, meaning more people came and absolutely no one walked away. A difficult trick because their was so much going on this afternoon like other stages and other fun things like exploratory trips into the woods. Photos by Naoaki Okamura
