Patience is a virtue

Fellow Fujirocker Shawn asked me to get a picture of the bus line up as a group of us trudged our way back to the minshuku early on Friday morning.

The festival proper hadn't even begun yet, and these people were waiting for the bus into Echigo-Yuzawa station after enjoying a spectacular night at the Fuji Rock Festival pre-party and matsuri.

If you are staying outside of the Naeba resort area (in other words, not camping or staying in a hotel/minshuku just outside the festival site), then you can catch a free shuttle bus to and from JR Echigo-Yuzawa Station. The bus ride to the station takes 40 minutes. They start leaving the festival at 5 am, and the last one is at 2 am.

The question is: how long does the queue to get on the bus take? This one was actually quite small compared to the ones after Fuji Rock got under way.
A friend of mine did it last year. He said that by the time he had made it through the queue, onto the bus, to the station, and then to his hotel room - it was pretty much time to come back to the festival. That, or miss some acts he really wanted to see.

Doesn't that make the idea of camping all the more appealing?
