Guitar King's Rock N Roll Show
This was the other party going on at Day Dreaming on Sunday. In dropped the Rock N Roll King, resplendent in his Panda suit, with Panda support. I was too slow on the uptake, and didn't get a pic til it was all shed, and the king of guitar himself, er, the Guitar King, was strutting up & down the stage, er, field, singing for the kids, er, grown ups.
I laughed in all the right places, though his Japanese was too fast for me and I couldn't catch the words. But as you may well guess, this show was as much about the visual as it was the sound. A small number of kids and a much larger number of adults gathered, some drawn away from Richie Hawtin's set, some simply repelled by it into the King's domain.
Two costume changes in a 15 minute show is an ask in my opinion, but Guitar King is more than up to the task. From Panda to civvies and then from civvies to King, the show getting more raucous as it went on. Well worth the price of admission.
