The Fumes
With the bright sun shining and some hot blues coming off the White STage, all many could think of was drinking! I mean keeping hydrated or getting more boozed cuz this music was explosive man. Guitarist Steve Merry mentioned as much saying he was "sweating more than a whore in church!"
A huge crowd was on hand because of the band's performance at the pre-party on Thursday. Merry and drummer They were not disappointed as Stephen Merry and Joel Battersby killed it with numbers like "Automobile", "Tell Your Story", "Mystery Bell", and "Grocery Store". The band sound like soul mates, the Black Keys, though they do things a little differently with slower numbers. Still, they mostly rip, and produce wonderful slide blues, even with a beer bottle. Merry promised to drink with the crowd right after the show and just before an autograph signing at the Ganban Record Store.
